How cute! I suggest "Diva" since that's what she'll probably end up being!

I thinks she needs a girly name like Freida, or Lizzie, Jenny or Saffie.

What an absolute doll!
Hmm names I like don't seem to fit with her, but I'll try anyways: Lexie, Sophie, Seven (wait no, you can't use that, I'm naming my first daughter that ) Chloe
hmm that's all for now.

Stormy is a girly name... I knew a girl horse named Storm.

I am not one for naming pets popular human names. I know, I know, Willow is technically a human name.... but, how many Willow's do you know?

There is probably a human out there somewhere named Stormy. I guess Storm would be a boys name.

Hi, thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming! If we don't name her soon, her name might stay 'puppy', lol

Our first night went rather smoothly. She slept in our master bedroom, in her little box (will go shopping for her later in the week), with her chewy toys. She woke me up at 4am for a piddle outside, and then we went back to bed. This morning up bright and early at 7am, outside again (gees, I better get used to going outside in the cold quickly!). She loves outdoors. I think she is house trained already, as she tells me (yes she can talk), when she wants to go outside (which is always!).

Her favourite spot in the garden so far is my herb garden (great!) She rolls around in my origanum, dashes through the lavender and rosemary, plays with the cherry tomatoes and chews on my peonies. I know, here are major clues for a name, but I'm not sure if they suit her.

You should have seen her liitle puzzled face when I put the tv on for the kids. Never seen a tv before! Too cute.

I'll try to post a better pic of her.

What's black with brown feet and ears, and white patch on chest?
My puppy without a name!!!!!!

I have come up with the following, but they have been vetoed by my boys!

Cocoa
Crema - The pale brown foam covering the surface of a well-brewed espresso (I mean, really, how perfect!! Just sounds too harsh when said)
Clover
Rosemary
Bruschetta - no reason, just sounds nice
Holly

What else is black, brown and white? Her personality is quite, curious and playful.

She is sooo cute and I bet she does become a diva! I like Stormy but it seems a little undignified for a diva in training, lol

It's hard to come up with a name on a moment's notice but she looks like a Princess (tho that is so common!) or Precious or maybe GiGi. Siamese Rescue recently named 3 newborn kittens after 3 divas - Celine, Modonna and Mariah (They were songing at the top of their tiny lungs and hence the name) but she does not look like any of them and I am not sure I'd WANT to be named after any of them, lol You could call her Diva and DeeDee for short or maybe Danielle, Dani for short. (Can you tell I like 2 syllabelle words, lol) Or Anica or Annique or Angelique b/c she is your Angel!

What about:
Chicco (it's Italian for bean, as in coffee bean)
pepper
Anise (as in the licorice-ey spice)
Noce (Italian for nut)
lol I'm a big fan of the foreign names, that way you can get a meaning/image without using a daily word.

A good way to look for names is by going to http://www.etymonline.com/ and typing in a word that suits your pup and see what pops up. ie for nun "Nuncheon" popped up. Nuncheon the munchkin! Or you could type in puppy, cute, curious, or whatever! Good luck, name picking can be hard!

Here are a small sampling from the 'animal names' document on my computer. I used to raise 4-H animals and always needed names

It has the name and then the meaning.

Ebony black

Ibby Dark colored

Li (LEE) Black

Licorice Black

Lisha (LEE-sha) Black; Darkness

Allee admirable and good; like the white earth

Aneas Praised One

Asil Well born, gentle, high-spirited, thoroughbred

Chika (TSHEE-kah) a thousand rejoicings

Dea (DAY-ah) a goddess

Eclat (ay-KLA) brilliant; splendid one

Elsa noble one

Avalanche strong or swift as an avalanche

Avis like a bird; bird of paradise

Binga glorious one; one who takes up room; one who rolls or wraps herself up

Blitzi like lightning

Chiquita (tshi-KEE-tah) little one

Alli dog

Aslan Lion

Chilver (Tshil-ver) lamb

Comet long-haired

For your pup, I especially like Ibby, Chika, Dea, Elsa, Chiquita, Chilver, and Comet.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I have tried a few on her, but she knows her name, I just have to figure it out!

Kayla - that is a very interesting site! I am sure I will find a name there, and learn a wealth of other stuff at the same time!

Yesterday we tried a few names on her, called her each name for a while to see if it sinks in. But this morning, the names don't seem right again!
We tried Clover, Sable, Ruby, Cocoa, Pepper(corn) and Rosemary.

Poor pup! When we call her 'come puppy', she looks at us expectantly waiitng for us to say her name. Her expressoin says 'don't you know my name yet?'

She is soooo good. No accidents in the house yet. She tells me when she needs to go out, and then afterwards looks at me with those little eyes as if to say 'I did it, I'm so happy'. Then she runs around like crazy-dog (in my herb garden).

Last night she slept through, no mid-morning piddle session. 7am, up again bright and early and play time.
