Peanut, the orange cutie is still looking for a home. He doesn't show off his true character at adoption days since he gets very stressed.

Poodletalk,I am sorry to hear that,he's just stunning:sad:
I don't know why people don't realize most cats would not be themselves, with strangers gawking at them while they are in a cage.
I know both Chico and Rocky would be awfully stressed, but they are under normal circumstances wonderful affectionate cats.
Vinnie would be himself no matter what,I think
People who have experience with cats must know, that you cannot always judge a cats temperament in stressful conditions.

Some people do. The hard part is finding them! We usually have no problem adopting the type of cat who lies in the front of cage, welcoming one and all to pet them.

The ones who cower in their beds, or hiss and spit are very hard to rehome, as in general the people looking don't want a cat like that, no matter how we reassure them that the cat is totally sweet and friendly when at home.

For example, our Pookie. He is the sweetest, most docile and gentle lapcat in the world, but this is how he looks at adoption events. Not one person was interested.

Actually, Peanut didn't stay in his cage for the whole adoption day he was too stressed.

His foster family bought him a harness and leash and they walked with him in the mall so he would stop hissing and spitting.

(It's a very quiet mall)

When I saw him walking with his leash and harness he reminded me of a pomeranian. He's a great walker, doesn't pull on the leash!!

He was much calmer outside the cage, but still no one wanted to adopt him.

I have a tabby cat for adoption at my shop; he is a nice cat but whenever a potential adoptee touches him, he bites them, not hard but still a nip! Noone wants to take him home. I just don't know what to do about it....nobody believes me when I say he is a nice cat!! I guess he will be our shop's mascot for awhile yet.
