kitten
l would like to know if it is wise to introduce another cat into the house.
we have had 2 cats for 5 years the younge cat has passed away about 3months a go , the older cat is 8 years old he seems to be looking for the other cat at times |

Sorry to hear you lost your other kitty.
I think it would be a good idea to get this guy a companion. Since your cat is used to having company, he would probably enjoy it again. Get a female, or a young neutered male, not too young (maybe 6 months old)so it won't drive him nuts with kitten madness, and introduce them gradually. Try and get a quiet and laid back girl, hopefully one who already likes other cats. Keep the new cat in a room, and let them sniff each other under the door. Exchange their beds so they can get used to each other's scent for awhile before actually meeting. |

Sure you can get another cat,if it's a kitten it's a little easier to introduce them to each other,but there are sooo many needy kitties in the shelters.. :sad:
Wether you get a grown cat or a kitten,it takes some time to get them used to each other,but usually in the end they will be friends. Your older cat is probably lonely and needs a companion. Once you ge another cat/kitten,we can give you all kinds of advice,so go out looking Lucky,you beat me...it must be my one-finger printing
