Interested in adopting an older lovebird
Hello,
My husband and I are both allergic to cats and dogs but would like to have a pet. Someone suggested that lovebirds are very loving, affectionate pets with alot of personality. We have no children and could put a great deal of time and energy into the bird. We were thinking that perhaps there is a rescue organization in Ontario (Southwestern) that may have lovebirds who couldn't be kept by their owners, etc. If there is anyone out there who can recommend a place like that or knows of someone who can't keep their bird, just post here and I'll check back regularily. Thank you for your advice and suggestions. Kelly |

Hi! To find a lovebird to adopt, you might try this place:
http://www.secondflight.org/ If you want a tame, friendly bird you can handle, make sure it was a handfed baby. They make excellent and charming, if demanding pets, but it sounds like you have the time for one. If you don't have your heart set on a lovebird, budgies are wonderful pets, who can learn to talk quite easily. Some have extensive vocabularies and are cute and amusing. |
