Unhappy Do Cats cry?

We had 2 cats and 6 days ago one died of a heart attack - he is SO missed. The other cat "Sheba" is always looking for him (they were together since kittens for 12 years) and today I took a photo of her and she looked like there were tears coming out of her eyes. It was so sad
Is it possible that an animal really cries like we do?
This is my first message so I hope it turned out ok. I've included her picture.

Awww - she is so pretty! I don't know if animals cry, but I'm sure she misses her companion very badly.

Sorry about the loss.

Sheba is beautiful...I'm sorry for your loss.

I don't think cats cry like we do...but maybe she's stressed about the loss & it unbalanced her immune system or something so she's got a little spring allergy thing going on? Just a thought.

What a cutey! I'm also sorry for your loss.

When my cat Flashy passed away (We had her a number of years and she died of old age) Goldy (the dog)was ultra upset..after 2 wks I told hubby if we don't get something I was afraid we would loose her too. That's how Sunny Bono came about. goldy perked up and was happy to have a playmate again. Course Goldy is very Maternal. She has babied all the babies in this house. Even me

Unhappy Sheba's best friend - Dexter

Thank you for your kind & understanding comments. I just wanted to say that her best friend Dexter's picture is on the Pet Cemetary site. He was SO handsome & we miss him so. These cats are my brother's and they all live with us.

That's soo sad,I too do not know about the crying, but I know they mourn and get confused when they cannot find their friends and probably feel lost and lonely...
I am sorry for your loss too and don't mean to try to replace your Dexter, but maybe you should look into finding another friend for Sheba...
The runny eye can probably be fixed easy,it happens to cats and dogs, ask your vet about it...
Again,sorry for your loss

Wink Sharing a happy moment

Here is Sheba with Dexter her lifetime companion who died just over a week ago.
She misses him so much and cries every night waiting for him.
Weren't they a handsome couple?

What beautiful cats!
I've had dogs mourn another dog...sometimes it takes several weeks for them to get re-settled. I think it's more the shift in "pack" dynamics they miss, rather than the passed-on animal.
It's hard to watch though b/c they don't understand.
