The Big Move-In

Hi everyone - it's been a while since I posted, but I'm hoping you all will have some advice for me

My boyfriend and I are moving in together. Finally. In addition to the stress of whose plates are nicer than whose and which furniture to throw away (his, obvi, ha ha ), we have the complicated issue of integrating our animals.

Mine: 2 female cats, both 10 years old, and while both of them are physically healthy, one has some pretty high anxiety (calico). I use Feliway diffusers which are miraculous. Neither have had much exposure to dogs, they hide when one is around, which is never for a long period, but they have adjusted quite quickly with previous moves.

His: a five year old Boston Terrier (purebred) who is very sociable, hyperactive at times and very lazy at others, and has had a very docile cat in the house for her whole life (this cat is deceased, unfortunately, as of last week). She is a sweet dog, who will do tricks for treats, but doesn't have much recall or the kind of discipline that I personally would expect from a dog, which I've been working on.

My calico, Zelda, can be quite vicious at times with people she doesn't like. Neither cat is declawed.

The house is much larger than either of our current homes, so space is not an issue.
My idea is to move the cats, and my stuff, in first. Then slowly start moving his stuff in over a couple of weeks. Then finally, the dog.

Any thoughts or ideas are vary much appreciated - we love our animals very much and ensuring the or happiness is stressing us out!!!

This might give you some ideas . I would get something that belong to your cats and dog and bring the cats belonging to the dog's house and vice versa to get the animals use their senses . I heard of people doing when bringing a new baby home to that has pets. Can you your still jump up to high places ,if yes build some cat shelves and escape to.
