Aww Shirley, you are definetly not crazy,I would do the same as you,for however long it takes, you love your dog and want him back home where he belongs.
Don't give up,as long as there is sightings there is hope and if he has survived this long,he is a fighter and has also not given up.

Just ot update...have not had any calls on Sable since last Saturday morning.
He was heading north toward Washago...a complete new area for him.
We haven't had any calls so we really don't know where to even start
driving to look....so I guess we will just have to sit tight and wait for a call.
We have changed our strategy a little in that most of the calls we are
getting he is being seen early morning and then again early evening..so it sounds like he is sleeping during the day so when we get a call we will go
in the afternoon not the morning as we have been.
Oh Sable just sit by the side of the road....someone will pick you up.

Shirley,I am sorry:sad:
This must be driving you up the wall, for every sighting you're hoping this will be it,only to be let down again and again,it's frustrating even to read about it,no,don't stop giving us updates, that's not what I meant...
I am still hoping through a miracle Sable will soon be home

It has almost been two weeks on Sat. that we had our last "Sable"
sighting north of Orillia. Nothing since then until today.

Not that the lead was great but a man who saw Sable in Barrie last
fall saw him at the edge of Hwy. 11 in Orillia "LAST WEDNESDAY" EVENING.
Why do they wait so long?????? He said he was sort of prancing along the
edge of the highway as the cars went past and he even went onto the
highway so Roger pulled his car off the road and called to him....but as
usual he bolted into the bush just off the highway. At least he got him
to go from the road. He said he tried to call and went looking but the bush
was so dense he couldn't see him.

I so wish he had called me a week ago....I would have been looking in that
area and I also have some kind people in the area there who would have also
covered some territory.

I can understand him being in that area as there are a lot of fast food places there as well as it is not too far from the lake for water.

Sable just sit stay on the side of the road someone will pick u up.

Just had a call this afternoon someone saw Sable around noon.
He was headed north on Hwy. 11 on the southbound side and looked like
the was getting off at the Sparrow Rd. exit near Lake St. George.

This is still the same area as the calls that came two weeks ago.. so at
least we know to go and still look in that area. I want to post signs as
many places as I can.

I had one kind soul call to help last week but I didn't know where to have her look. She does some rescue work and wanted to help us. Turns out she
lives right in the area where Sable was headed....at least someone there
knows about him and might be able to see him.

Not much to go on but better than what we have had.

will keep you posted.

Shirley I don't get a chance to post too often, but have read this thread daily and almost jumped out of my skin when I saw your post. Was so hoping it would say Sable was found and home sleeping. I just want you to know that while I don't say it regularly here, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Sable. Poor boy, with all your determination he just has to make it home safely and preferrably soon. Stick too it Shirley, we're all pulling for you guys.

I had another call on Sunday night a man who saw Sable last fall saw him
in Orilla not too far from Hwy. 11. He said he went in to get a leash and a
treat and POOF he was gone...nowhere to be see.
He said a friend of his had seen him not far from there earlier last week as well
His friend also though someone had him chained up and he would like me to
come up to Orillia and canvass the street they think he was being kept.

Unfortunately I can not go until Saturday but I will do that and pray for
more sightings.

Wow! I am beginning to feel like a real whinner!

I had a call today from a lady just south of Orillia on the Ramara side of
Lake Simcoe. She says she saw an animal on Wed. night late...like 1:30 a.m.
(Thurs morning) She had pulled onto another road off Highway 12 and was
on her cell phone..she looked out here passenger window and an animal was
sitting on a knoll on the corner looking in her window. She said she was
scared to death but the animal kept looking at her. She saw only his head and
face and said he big round eyes.

After she left she remembered Sable and thought perhaps it had been him.
She said he was very , very dark in colouring which Sable is and that it
didn't look like a coyote or wolf. I sent her pictures and she said she thinks
for sure it was him.

Does anyone know if a coyote or a wolf would sit and look at a human in
a car. I am not familiar with their habits???

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as I need to decide where I
might go to hunt this weekend. This location is just west and north of
where our cottage was....maybe 15 miles but it is only about five miles from
where the call in Orillia came from on Sunday night.

Thanks again for all the support I have received from this site.

Well I'm pretty sure you're on your way to check out this lead no matter what! Aren't you??? Good luck on this new adventure search. One of these leads has just got to pan out with the safe return of Sable. Perhaps this will be your Canada Day weekend to beat them all!!!

Shirley, you know we ALL think of you and Sable and
If he knows your cottage, maybe he is sticking around the same area for a reason, maybe it's a weekend cottager who feeds him,not knowing he's a missing pup??

Oh Shirley, good luck to you. No way would a coyote watch for any length of time. No way, no way. They would only watch to see what a human was going to do and then run off.

another sable call

No luck in my search on the weekend...felt like I was looking in the wrong
area...perhaps it was a coyote....but....

I just got a call from the same area, I haven't spoken with the man who was walking his dog when he saw him but the lady who called said someone in the neighborhood is feeding the dog but the dog won't come near them.

I guess I am off to Orillia again this afternoon...will keep you posted and thanks for all the moral support.

Shirley I hope this is it, if at least you can find where he is based. Is this one in the Hwy.11 area or around your cottage area? When I saw you had posted, I thought this is it and hopefully this time, it is. Good Luck Shirley.
