Nope. After four days of rain and above-freezing temps, the yard is pretty smushy and only about 50% snow-covered. There's still a fair amount of ice out there and 6 inches of snow under some of the evergreens.

It's icky.

Your door is so white and clean! How do you manage that with 8 dogs ?

Love the story...the Hazel Run Winter Olympics were much more entertaining than the real one .

I had to go back and look for a white door! Turned out it was just an optical delusion Between the light streaming in through the storm door window and the flash, it camouflaged the dirt, spittle and rust on the doors. Our biggest problem is rust--the outside doors are steel and those wet noses really do a number on them! They're very, very orange in spots on the outside.

I'm glad you enjoyed their little production! (And we didn't even have to build any new facilities! )

Cole & Ember's pairs synchronization top the events but Ember's Spittle Bubbles were truely amazing!

Hazel--this was thoroughly a pleasure. What an amazing group of athletes!

You're still missing one thing though. Normally when athletes work hard enough to earn themselves a medal they actually get the medal. So - where are they?

The Pack trains all year round! That way they're ready for the Olympics whether it's a summer or winter event It's that dedication that makes them the truly amazing athletes that they are!

As for Ember's Spittle Bubbles--he's the champ!!! I've been trying to get a clear picture of those bubbles for ages! Who knew they'd be so hard to get a pic of!

Oh, that!

Totally misunderstood that one!

Well...as it turns out...the Olympic committee was a little low on funds for medals, the cost of gold being what it is. So they baked a bunch of dog cookies, drilled holes and hung them on chains. They looked loverly hanging around eveyone's necks...

However, loverly as they were to look at, they were even more delicious to taste!

Turns out that setters are very quick in that regard. By the time of the photo ops after the medal ceremonies, the medals were history...

Sheesh, how have I managed without Setter tales for all this time

Ever sooooooooo amazing!!
So many great athletes, so many great moments, so many great photos

but I have to say, synchronized peeing was truly a "Kodak" moment

(so... no photos of the medals ceremonies? podium shots? have you got them trained to raise a paw when the national anthem is played?.. ooops, a bit demanding aren't I )

Actually, they put a paw over their heart for the national anthem.

Instead of all the athletes receiving bouquets of flowers, did King Ember share some spittles?

They're always sharing spittle! Not only with our sleeves and pant legs, but with each other...and even with the ceiling!

So, yes, Ember shared some spittle!

I think that was one of the best winter olympics i have seen.
I also think the syncronized peeing event was the best.
Too bad they ate there medals before the photo ops.

Yeah, they have a tendency to eat their awards. They're very food oriented...

They have potty contests all the time first thing when they get out. Someone pees, the next one comes over for a sniff and marks the spot, another one wanders over....and eventually you have a brown spot there! They train for the event all the time, but it's hard to get pictures cuz I'm usually pretty busy when they're doing it. The birds had to wait for their seed that morning so I could get some shots of the competition. They didn't mind--this was, after all, an Olympic competition!

Shoulda' shellacked them first! They wouldn't have eaten them then. Could have made an extra batch for eating.

Now why didn't we think of that, 14+

'Course, Brier would probably have eaten his, anyway. I guess that sort of sounds like a vet bill to me! He's such a goof....

Thanks, Smiley!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the Games
