cat leaves during the day
We have a male cat who has been neutered. He leaves every day and comes home every evening around the same time. We don't know what time he leaves in the morning or where he could be going. I thought males who were "fixed" wouldn't stray. Any thoughts?

Neutering doesn't have much to do with this situation.
Cats are territorial creatures. Your cat is probably just hanging out in its territory. (Usually a small area probably 5-15 houses away from you). The cat probably sleeps a lot, chases bugs, looks at the birds, eats grass, stares down other cats etc. Basically your cat is just being a typical outdoor cat. Just make sure he gets his full compliment of shots every year, outdoor cats are WAY more at risk for diseases. Homer |
