Serena and draino

Hey guys,

First of hi! sorry its been so long things here are crazy.

Quick thing. I dumped some Drano in my bathtub and Serena for some reason decided to go in the bathtub. she usually stays away from there. She got some on her paws i don't think she licked any of it. Hubby and i quickly wiped her paws off with water and i have shut the door. she seems fine. anyone had experience with this before. if she starts throwing up i'm taking her right to the vet just wondering if I'm over reacting.

Real fast - I'm on my way out the door. Run lots and lots of water over her feet and maybe give her some milk to line her belly. Other than that watch her carefully. First sign of anything unusual get to the vets.
I know you will mf. Good luck!

No, you're not overreacting! Thank dawg you caught it quickly. I don't know how toxic per se the stuff is, but it's very caustic and can cause burns. Did you check her paws well to make sure they're not burned or irritated? You might also want to check her mouth and rinse it with water for good measure if you noticed an irritation. If you see anything, a quick call to the vet is in order.

Hope she didn't ingest any, MWW! And welcome back, stranger.

Hey MWW, it's been so long. Sorry to hear about Serena. I'm with the others. If you caught it really quick and cleaned her feet well, like 14+ suggested a bit of milk maybe and watch her closely. It wouldn't hurt to call the vet to see if you should be looking for anything special or doing anything special. They shouldn't push you to bring her in if nothing obvious is going on. Poor kitty and poor mom. Hugs to you my friend, will try calling soon.

Yea after christmas hubby started dialysis so that was crazy with the scheduling.

I goggled cats and drano i got some hits on some other people whose cats licked/walked in dranio. they recommand milk but she won't drink it go figure, keeping an eye on her mouth and paws which i am. that if she isn't vomiting or anything now she is more then likely ok.

God i'm going nuts. I'm suppose to go hang out with friends tonight with hubby but i'm afraid to leave her.

Thank you Myka i swear i didn't understand half of that lol.

Serena seems to be doing fine. she ate both meals of the night. She's not acting weird or different in anyway. So i think it was just mommy freaking out but i rather freak out then be like eh what ever.

Thanks everyone. Will post an update soon. gotta go to bed and work this weekend.
