Woohooo! I finally got pierced! *Pictures*

I've been wanting piercings for a long time. I finally got paid yesterday so I figured I should spoil myself.

I was a nervous wreck on the way to the shop but once I got there, it was smooth sailing.

For the any fellow Vancouverites, I went to "Sacred Heart" on Davie and Bidwell.

I had a friend take pictures so.. I figured I'd share them.

"Bear" and a nervous piercee.

The needle in.

Now for the lip.. (not my most flattering picture )

Done!

The before pic

After pic:

They actually didn't hurt as much as I thought they would. The eyebrow was a piece of cake. I didn't know the needle went in.. I thought it was still outside, just touching my skin. The lip hurt for a few seconds but it didn't hurt too much.

Dad didn't say anything. I'm not sure if he noticed LOL.

Mom knew about it before I went. She *tried* to subtley stop me from getting the lip done but she knew their required age is 16 (I'm 16) so she couldn't really stop me LOL. Ah well, they'll get use to it.

Wow, you have to be 18 here to get anything pierced or tattooed!
I always wanted my eyebrow done but I was too chicken, got my tongue pierced though... I didn't have to worry about what my mom said, just had to keep my mouth closed till I wanted to tell her!
Didn't the clamp hurt worse than the needle??

It's hard to say.. The needle (for the lip) hurt but it lasted 2 seconds. The clamp wasn't *as painful* but it was on for such a long time.

oh yay, i love piercing, well the actual doing of it not the recieving that i like best. i have pierced so many body parts on myself and other i couldnt count them. BUT i have not done it in a few years after i saw the damage an untrained person can do if they hit a nerve, so dont anyone do it themselves unless it is a ear.
i once pierced a mates lip 4 times in one night, his face was so swollen it was quite shocking, i thought i was going to kill him (but i didnt ) i only have my nose done these days, i did it when i was 13years old and have never been without it, i look weird without it, i dont even have my ears done anymore (have started acting like old lady ).

how is your swelling going?? dont worry it will heal in no time.

a word of warning, never do your tounge. it is sooo dangerous, i have had 2 friends swollow earings and have been fortunate enough not to get hurt but they were lucky. also doing your tounge the earing slowly chips the enamel of the inside of your teeth and destroys them.

i have always wanted to pierce my cheek, just under my eye, a earing shaped teardrop, but my friend chook did it a few yrs ago so now i wont do it as it has been done and he would just payout on me for it (he probably stole the idea from me in the first place )
hope it feels better soon

I forgot to mention...(thanks mel!) I haven't had the barbell in my tongue for quite some time now, I'm sure it is closed by now and I took it out because of the tooth issue. I did not want my teeth decaying because of a stupid tongue ring... but I sure did talk funny after I took it out!! Oh by the way, I have swallowed part of the barbell already.

I have my belly button done. I'v had it since i was 14 (my mom took me). it didn't hurt me at all. i thought the clamp hurt worst than the actual needle. I want to get my tounge done one day. just not while i'm living at home.

LOL...I got my belly button done before they started using needles!! It was done with a ear peircing gun, the first time the guy tried to put too much skin in there, my fiend who went with me said I went pure white! Ha ha ha

I was scared to death when i saw the needle. it was HUG lol. I was lying there with my eyes clamped shut waiting. i didn't even realize he had done anything until he asked me to sit up slowly. I flet so stupid for being scared after that. i had no idea they used to do it with ear peircing guns. that sounds a lot more scary than a needle. especialy because you can peirce a nerve there and really mess things up if you peice too far back.

you may think me barbaric, but oh well .
i had mine done with guns or did it myself with a piercing stud, that is all i ever used. i used a piercing stud on all my friends for their faces, just stuck it through really. it is easier to do on others than yourself believe me, doing my belly button took hours of drilling with the stud, got through eventually but so drawn out, but it went quite easily through a lip. luck of the draw i suppose. i dont know if i could do it facing a needle, i would pass out i think, hate needles. boy i was young and stupid once
(again never do it yourselves, nerves all over your face and body and if you hit one your really stuffed, dont rely on luck, go to a professional for a small fee).

heidi did the infection go away, did you keep it, did the skin try and reject it after the infection??

hey alpha how is it healing, well i hope, the swelling better now??

The swelling and bruising is starting to look horrible. My lip hurts when I clean it but I guess it'll go away after a couple more days. The inside of my lip looks horrible. (I had fun grossing people out today LOLOL!) My brow looks great. No signs of rejection/migration yet. *Fingers crossed*

Exactly & that's why they don't it with guns anymore I had mine done when I was 17, I'm almost 29 now. I think it's why even after having the peircing out for years, I still have a hole
When I got my tongue peirced, I couldn't look at the needle either. I HATE needles, but it didn't hurt at all
