You guys are too funny. Bulls are males. They can't produce any "milk". So bull's milk is clearly not milk. Hmmmm if you know what prairie oysters are, let's just say that bull's milk comes from them.

Foie Gras and veal. Why are rich people foods always so un-animal-friendly?

I honestly don't understand why people eat veal anyway. I've only had it a couple of times and it's really bland unless you put sauce or a bunch of seasoning on it. Why do people want baby cows to go through a bunch of torture just so they can eat some bland meat?

Ok this is one of my favorite foods (ignore the mushrooms). It looks gross and I can't get everyone to try it, but it's REALLY yummy with chili oil, jalapeno and peanuts. It's called tofu skin, and the particular kind I like is made by soaking the dried tofu skin (bean curd sticks) in water and then adding whatever flavor you want.

What do you guys think? Would you eat it?

It has a meaty texture, kind of like a very firm pasta or a shiitake mushroom.

(Some of it is brighter yellow 'cause it's not soaked all the way yet, the more white part is what it looks like done)

MyBirdIsEvil, you don't have to go to all that trouble. You could just flat out say "I never want to have the pets.ca bbq at my house."

What is wrong with tofu!? lol

Ok, what about barbacoa, specifically Barbacoa de cabeza.

Quote:
Barbacoa de cabeza is a specialty of slow cooked cow head that arose in the ranching lands of northern Mexico after the Spanish conquest.
Quote:
In the U.S., barbacoa is often prepared with parts from the head of a cow, such as the cheeks
One of the best things I've ever had.

I get it already! We'll have the bbq somewhere else!

My dad used to buy us pig feet (back in the day when we had noooo money)... Honestly, that was tasty, super tender meat.

I've never had pigs feet. I would try them if someone offered, but honestly it creeps me out to be eating something an animal has been walking on.

It's the fact that the feet still look like....well...feet.

Properly cooked, veal is a moist, flavourful meat. You've obviously never had it well prepared. I won't eat it due to the cruelty, though I would consider eating grey veal, but if I am served it at someone's house I will eat it out of respect and politenesss. My father, who loves veal has been instructed to never prepare it at home, sue to my mom's and my feelings about it.

I love it, but I won't eat lobster anymore, due to the fact that they mate for life.

Yuck, me too. Or sushi. Any raw fish.

I won't eat veal either because of the cruelty factor.

I don't mind tofu so I'd try the tofu skins.

I remember pickled pigs feet...they weren't bad. Can only handle so much though.

Headcheese?

Eggplant. There is no way no how I will ever eat eggplant...

And a quarter of this thread went disturbingly from "you could not pay me to eat it" to "where can I find bull's milk?"

As a young child I used to eat pickled eggs like there was no tomorrow. Today, you couldn't give me enough money or get me drunk enough to go near one.

That was slightly rude, lol. I guess that's a personal opinion. I have had veal properly cooked, and I still think it's bland, though I agree it's moist and tender.

I like high quality caviar, and some of the lower end stuff is still good, but some of it is pretty bad.

Cow's tongue is good slow cooked until it's falling apart with gravy on it.
It's also good sliced really thin for sandwiches, but the only place I've found it like that is at this kosher deli I used to go to.

I agree. My man's grandma makes KILLER food and her veal still tasted bland. It just doesn't have the flavor that either a steak or roast beef does. Even without the cruelty factor, I still wouldn't eat it.
