The dad looks like a cockapoo, but the mother certainly passed down most of the genes, unless there was another father in the mix!

While it's always hard to tell breeds by looks, I'll give it a guess...with the shortish legs and I'm looking at the coat, which to me looks more like Maltese or Llasa Apso type of coat than a Cocker's. Just my

I agree--hair looks very Lhasa Apso to me too, and could be crossed with another terrier to send so much terrier to the pup--if it is the father of that pup. Have a cockapoo neighbour that looks like that, though--if it is a second or third generation cockapoo, and their hair is left to grow, they start to look like the generic long haired mutt--from small labradoodles to almost anything.
I don't know if the OP knows that one litter can have more than one father, or that just because the two dogs were seen to mate, doesn't mean the litter was sired by that dog, if another dog "saw" the female for a few minutes.
I think it is safe to say the pup is a terrier mix. Very cute little furperson, at any rate! I once had a black and tan terrier mix with slightly shorter legs that looked very much the same--he was a great little dog.

I agree with the terrier camp. I once had a rat terrier/hound of some sort mix that had some of the same traits. Beautiful pup by the way.

Here's an interesting article about identify dog breeds based on looks.

http://nationalcanineresearchcouncil...-of-breeds.pdf

Seems it is somewhat impossible... Get a DNA test if you can afford it, it isn't that expensive; about 50 dollars.

I am thinking about getting one for my dog Suzie, she is somewhat of a mystery, too.

WHatever she may be, she is beautiful!

Well I don't know, but that doesn't look like the pup's father to me. I don't see anything about him in her. And in the pictures of her sleeping in the chair she looks pretty leggy and to have a decent sized foot, if her mother is a min pin I'd be suspicious that a larger dog is really her father. One with longer legs and probably a smoother coat than her "dad" in the pictures.

She's very cute, whatever mix she is.
