Is she swollen at all down there? And little blood spots?

Humping is also a dominance thing.
Having her spayed may not help if its a show of dominance. Jackson STILL humps Patrón to show dominance...
Poor Patrón, he always looks so mortifed and violated too,

I would not say this is a sexual act, as in nature it is the male who does the humping motion, but to try and show her dominance over you.
She is at the age now where she will test boundries

Rottielover. I did notice she only does it when im laying on the floor and holding up a ball so she reaches for it (Its a game we play). Then , she wraps her paws around my arm and starts, well, ya know. I think it may be a dominance thing..

Dont see any spotting nor is she swollen

Ya'll are so funny! (southernese)

Really, it's the hormones kicking in and Dominance! Females tend to be alpha. (Females are alpha in most species)
Spaying will help but ......expect a little more of it down the road.
It will get better.
(Wrong choice of words there but you know what I mean)

Hahahaa, usually girl animals don't really do that My cat Kasey started humping my moms leg out of the blue! She was laying on the couch, and he just came up and got all creepy. He was neutered late though, and I will never forgive myself for that he humps everything like crazy... his mom, his sister, his friends, blankets etc. grosss!

I'm going to say, yeah that.

And females will definitely try using this as a dominant act for sure. Our puppy has tried it a few times in the past, and we've nipped it in the bud, that kind of thing is NOT tolerated in our house.

If I'm not mistaken, this is more of a dominance issue than a sexual issue (although in dogworld, the two are closely entwined). And yes, it's more prevalent in males, but some females have been known to do it as well. Spaying/neutering does help some, as well as the firm establishment of who's 'boss'. There's a book called "My Smart Puppy" that is a lifesaver, the tips they have are very good and have worked in many situations

What kind of training have you been doing with her? If she's really pushing the humping this with you, you might want to consider trying NILFF approach for a while...keeping her on umbillical while your home and making her work for her food/play etc, it will help reinforce your role as "'da boss"

Im always working with her on her training, and she alwayd works for her treats and stuff. I was thinking about using the umbillical training accually and was going to ask about it. We train for at least 20 minutes daily, Thats including basic obediance and cutsie tricks like gimme right paw, gimme left paw. And We are also working on a bit of agility. I Am A pretty assertive dog owner but she is still trying to domianate and its all very cofusing to me This being my first dog im always wondering if im doing it right because i dont want to mess up and make her a "bad dog" .. I guess its like raising children, you always wonder what they will turn out like in the future and if they will be well behaved.

Etna has been doing the same thing to the poor Piggy!!! And she's only 4 months!

I have been getting her to stop and she hasn't been doing it as much. With training they usually grow out of it. Although, I've had many dogs in my life and Etna is the first humper! It is quite funny to watch I have to admit though!

Puddin Head was a rescue cat who hit sexual maturity shortly after I got him. Lord have mercy. He was an ornery devil. Fortunately, he never tried to hump me but he did engage in mad monkey sex with the cats in the mirrors. Totally gross.

Neutering helped considerably but I had to go the extra step and put him on Bach's Rescue Remedy Drops. I put four drops in a quarter cup of water in the morning. He eats his kibble durring the night and his water bowl is empty when I get up. He drinks this down and I then fill the bowl up with water for the day. One dose usually does the trick for him but you can give it up to four times a day. If I have company, I give him a second dose about a half hour before they arrive and he is a complete gentleman. Before, he would hide under the bed the entire time company was here.

My TN. kids came for my birthday last weekend and he stayed in the living room for the entire five hours. I was impressed. While not mean, he wants nothing to do with those he doesn't know well. He sat guard by my chair up until the last hour when all of the noise got the best of him at which time he went under my chairside table and watched what was going on from there.

I buy it from Iherb where I get all of my herbs and supplements at a great price. One bottle, approx. $8.00, lasts several months. This does not zonk him. It just eliviates anxiety and eliminates naughty behavior. Best wishes.
