My dog is sick

My 12-year-old schnauzer is sick. We've had her to the vet twice already and they did x-rays and blood and urine tests and they all came back looking normal. They can't figure out what's wrong with her. She hasn't eaten a bite in days; she won't even touch her very favorite people foods. She seems disoriented and makes a wheezing noise when she breathes, and she is shaking. Does anyone have an idea of how to help her? We're probably going to take her to the vet again tomorrow.

On her blood work, did they check her blood glucose and/or corrective Calcium levels?

Her glucose is normal and her calcium is good because she's been on a low-calcium diet since she had bladder stones before. I forgot to say earlier that she also acts like she can't hear since she's been sick. My poor doggie keep getting sicker...

Was it a full body x-ray? If not, have they considered x-raying her heart?

She got 2 x-rays and one showed her head and neck and one showed her chest and belly. Her heart looked good. The only thing that showed up looking bad was the arthritis in her back, which we already knew about.

I really hope your vet finds out what's wrong. This one has me baffled. I would have said one of the following: diabetes, immune associated, cardiomyopathy or pulmonary edema but all the tests and x-rays are normal. Maybe it's just old age

Please do keep us updated with this. As well as being curious, keeping us updated will help other schnauzer owners (myself included). I will keep checking for updates and will post if I can think of anything else it could be.

Good luck with this

Another vet visit today.. Vet didn't charge for the office visit though! She got blood work again to see if anything has changed and they gave her a shot of antibiotics. She seems a little better now and ate a few bites of chicken. I hope that means she'll get over this. x_X: <3 my doggie..
So thanks, and I'll update when I find out anything else.
