Red bump on my great danes chest - cyst?
Hi my 4 year old Blue Great Dane has a red bump on his chest/stomach area. It does not appear to cause him any pain and I would say it is about the size of a dime maybe smaller. What could I be looking at here and should I worry?
Any help is greatly appreciated in advance. Pictures attached Best regards, Justin |

Hi Justin . It appears to be a cyst of some sort but only your vet will be able diagnose and possibly ease your worries. He/she may do a fine needle aspiration and have the biopsy examined microscopically to get an idea of what it may be.
Please let us know how it turns out and, when you get a chance, we'd love to see what the rest of your Dane looks like .

For sure I will upload some photos I will most definitley get it looked at I just am stuck in between pay checks so I would like to know if this is considered an emergency and will it only get bigger? (If it is a cyst of course)
Thanks again, Justin |

It's pretty impossible to tell if it will get bigger as we can't tell what it is . If it is a cyst, there are many different kinds that can only be diagnosed accurately via biopsy. I do understand your worry though. If it was one of my dogs, I'd make an appointment as soon as I possibly could (within a week but only if there wasn't any change in it's appearance nor the dogs' behavior).

Oh, is Carter ever a handsome fella ! I love all the pics but the one where he's sitting on the couch back made me laugh . He looks like a real character. The very first litter of pups I ever fostered were newborn Danes so I'm a little partial to them .

My dog had one under his armpit that looked the same, after spending hundreds at the vet for them to tel my to watch it, it went away out of.l the blue and never returned. That is not to say do not get it looked into, that was just my experience.

Hi Justin. My dog has a bump that looks just like that. Did you ever figure out what it was?

It reminds me of this, though this is after itopens up.
Mind you, cancers can lurk, but it may also be non-cancerous. No way to tell w/o a biopsy. |
