Our 9 yr old hound mix had surgery a year ago to remove a grape-sized mast cell tumor. A large amount of skin was taken around the tumor as a precaution. Unfortunately, she recently developed another bump quickly followed by six more. The bumps are getting larger and we have been told by our vet that sometimes chemo drugs can help. I would like to know if anyone has seen good results with chemo on disseminated mast cell tumors and was the dog's quality of life impaired. She is still very active (walks three miles a day and plays with the other dogs) has a good apetite and does not appear to be in discomfort.
