BELOW IS SAD NEWS ABOUT GOGAMA...BE WARNED IT IS SAD...

Kathy-Lynne Jeanneault POSTED THIS ON FACEBOOK on the Mile 26 site...

IMPORTANT FROM ALL HEART PET RESCUE* For those of you that have followed the care that has gone into the Mile 26 dogs. With tears streaming down my face, a lump in my throat and my heart feeling like its in pieces- I have to announce the passing of Gogama today. She was a girl that humbled me greatly. In her few months... at All Heart she learned to observe, interact, trust and love. She was a girl that I had much respect for- and she for me.She not only reminded me how much hard work and determination payed off, but also that with trust- love can be felt.

My heart told me to keep her, hold her so very close and never let her go, but my head told me that I could not provide the proper one on one care she so deserved for the rest of her life. It wouldnt be realistic. I already had four dogs, 2 cats and three kids.

Truly..... I know it sounds idiotic..... but I think Gogama knew that if she couldnt have me she didnt want anyone.

She hung herself between two fence posts on a gate that had aprox 3 inches between it. (She wedged herself between two posts while clearly trying to pull her head back through) During this time Buster (her look a like) that had been with me aprox 10 months was being adopted to his new home by Barb.I had driven out the driveway- Gogama clearly wanting to be with me- got her head between the gate and in minutes it was all over. Aproximatly 10 minutes after I had left Barb went back over the kennel yard where she layed asphixiated.

Gogama is buried with my two other family dogs Bear and Luna, and my cat Teddy right behind my house. She was wrapped in a blanket, given one of my teddy bears under her arm so she will never be alone, a sweater of mine that has my smell and a full box of treats sprinkled in her grave. She will always be loved. Thank you to everyone that has followed her beautiful story. Gogama your in my heart forever. xo

Since when do "feral" dogs die from a broken heart because they can't be with their human? Poor Kathy she must feel terrible and just heart broken.

Gogama...I guess she just couldn't take losing another human. Bless u Gogama.

Debbie

chico, thanks, but it wasn't me who got her to love humans. It was a lady named Kathy...I just copied what she had written on the Dogs on Mile 26 facebook page. Telling what had happened to poor Gogama. She was such a pretty dog.

I've been plugging away at Ol' Crusty Pants, but coming up with an emphatic NO ....I will keep trying.

The dogs of Mile 26 that are in foster care are doing well ...that being said many of the dogs that are in kennels are not they are regressing to the point that some/many are acquiring bladder infections, they don't want to pee/poo in their kennels, they are used to roaming free and doing their business whenever nature calls. Also when their kennels are being approached by their caregivers they are shrinking back to the furthest corner

They are in desperate need of foster homes

If each and every one of you can rack your brains and think of people you know that just may be able to take one dog into their home.

Have they reached out to any rescue groups. If they will relinguish some dogs, I may be able to assist in networking. Please let me know.

No Tundra Queen I did not. Maybe she is overwhelmed at the moment. I don't know. I did talk to 2 rescues that said that they may be able to assist but with only one each as they are full. If you hear from her, please let her know.

Sjbisco put up a list of the dogs rescued and which individual rescues has them in their care. Anyone wishing to help you can contact the rescue directly. They are all in need of donations, foster homes and furever homes

This is copied from their website this morning:

Ella has gone missing from the Timmins OSPCA (an affiliate)...if there is anynody who lives in the area, please keep an eye out for her.

** Further to the missing dog from the Timmins Humane Society, the following was copied from the Myzer web site under Lost and Found:

Ella is missing from the Mahoney Road area. She could be anywhere. She is comfortable in the forest, she was one of the Mile 26 dogs rescued from up past Wuretel.
She is a ...lab/husky/?? Cr...oss. light brown/beige/black in colour with two of the most beautiful ice blue eyes!! (Probably her most noticeable feature)
I will get in contact with you RIGHT away. Please take her in if you can**

I so hope she is found safely.

What a friggen excuse the OSPCA gave

Timmins and District Humane Society manager and OSPCA agent Lynn Michaud said because the society is governed by the definition of distress, they weren't able to get involved early in the rescue efforts. Under that definition, feral dogs are not considered to be in distress because they can fend for themselves.

Here is a pic of Ella Blue Eyes....her eyes are a real ice blue, I have seen other photos of her....Apparently because she was so friendly, she was allowed to roam free in the building, someone left the door open and Ella who was used to roaming free in the bush.....roamed right out of the building

No Hazel ....I was just reading that it was approx two weeks before they revealed she had gone missing , but she was seen hanging around the shelter and they tried to trap her to no avail. It has now been a week since any sightings .....it is just wilderness up there Hazel, she could be anywhere. I just so hope that she is safe.

yay Facebook Mile 26 page .. 12 AM

HONEY HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!

I was walking down the train tracks about 30 mins. ago and Honey jumped out of the bush right on top of me!!! She was so excited to see me that she pinned me to the ground. As we walked toward the car she saw Mox and May and flew into the back of the truck..she then turned and looked at me and ...said, "Home mum".

That Ally is found as well
