Philadelphia

I'm pretty into photography. There are some recent ones that don't completely suck... THEY SHOULDDD be upright because I edited them on photobucket, but I hardly ever use my photobucket so I might have done it wrong.

Comcast Building

City Hall... as seen from walking down Market Street.

Subway at 15th/16th & Locust.

Love Park of course.

A giant clothes pin.

Well this isn't photography, but this is me at the Franklin Institute as taken by my mother.

For the record, I'm as short as I look We went to see the Real Pirates! thing. It was amazing. I'm kinda making a sour face though bright sun in mah eyezzz.

...oh and they were taken with a 2 mega pixel CAMERA PHONE LG Shine for the win! I did just get a Nikon Kool Pix though that I am really pleased with.

Thanks

The comcast building scares me though, because it sticks out so much and sort of makes Philly an erm... 'target' of sorts. It's almost done though.

I like the one of City Hall.. it's all overly patriotic and whatnot. totally the opposite of me

What is that clothespin? A building? Your pics have such outstanding perspective!

Cool pics, and I can't believe they were taken with a camera phone! I'm going through PA next week, I'll have to see if we're going anywhere near Philly, I'll look for those pictures.

I'm 5 foot 2... one of my best friends is 5 foot 9 so.... she bends down to talk to me and get pictures with me.

Here are a few more pictures from a different day..... I was actually in Camden but these are pictures of the skyline. Also all taken with camera phone.

This 1976 Claes Oldenburg sculpture carries the same bit of quirk found in many of his other works about the city. If you take a stroll through Philadelphia, you'll find it is not that odd to find a 20-foot tall, red clothespin in the middle of high activity areas. The Clothespin also provided the background for a scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Ankroyd in the film "Trading Places." There are other Claes Oldenburg sculptures around town, including the giant broken button on the Penn campus at 36th and Locust Walk.
It's brown not red though, guess from being outside in the sun the color faded.
