Newbie in north york looking 4 dog friendly park

I just moved to North York, ON, from Florida USA. I have a healthy Shih-Tzu. We are in a Condo right now.

I need to find a dog friendly park near here.

Thank you.

Hi!

Welcome to the forum, and welcome to Ontario!

This link is probably a good place to start looking:

http://www.pets.ca/dogparks/ontario.htm

I'm in Richmond Hill, so I don't really know North York very well, but I have visited the Markham off-leash park on ocassion and it's quite nice there. I don't drive unfortunately, so don't go to dog parks very often. I know I found another link for dog parks, so I'll try dig it up for you

Off leash dog parks can be dangerous. Make sure you choose carefully and If you take your dog to an off leash park, not only keep a close eye on your dog, but also other peoples dogs. Some people think its fine to take unfriendly, unsocialized and agressive dogs to a park and just let em go and call them when its time to go. Meanwhile they arent paying any attention to their own dogs and just chatting with their friends. So said dogs attack innocent dogs like your own. So that being said, if you are even a little un easy about how people are handeling there dogs at a dog park, dont hesitate to leave and never go back, before something happens that could harm your dog, or yourself Too many stories have been posted here about these unfortunate events!

Good luck and welcome to the forum! Remember, keep a very close eye on your baby!

We would looove to see pictures of your pooch!
