Yes,they do...unfortunately we had to leave him behind when we went to Canada, but he got adopted by some friends of ours who loved him.He lived to be 10yrs old.
I still suffer from pangs of guilt about my dog Mishka,look-a-like to Sadie, she had severe arthritis of the spine and when pain-killers did not help anymore,I had her put down.I still cry about her when I think of her,she was a wonderful dog...but that to is looong ago...could I have done better by her?It will always haunt me

What a beauty Anita.

I was ummmmm lets see....1972....I was 6......

Anita,I know how you feel and there wasn't anything else you could do....My previous GSD Cujo had Rhumatoid(sp) Arthritis...This,being the worse kind to have...He was on asprin, glucosamin, shark cartlidge, and all natural medication. It got worse in his last three years. He was 13.He lost all muscle mass in his back legs.He had to be carried up and down stairs. And he was 100lbs.Thank god I was strong enough to carry him.He never whinned in pain. But we went for a short walk. And all of a sudden he cried in pain and was dragging himself.I had to carry him back home.I knew then what I had to do.It broke my heart. He was my best friend and Kyras buddie. It's been over 8 years and I still miss him.He still lives in out heart.

Nice pics Anita! I'm sure any dog of yours had a wonderful life.

I know what it's like. My Polo was crippled with arthritis too, and I had to have him euthanized when he was 13, in 2000. I still get very upset thinking about it.

Thank's guys you are sooo nice
My Mishka only lived about 4 yrs,we had gotten her from a pet-shop.In those days I did not know any better.Could have been a genetic problem, young dogs don't usually have those problems, right?
I used to carry her to go to the bathroom, but she would buckle under and lay down to pee Pain-killers was all I could give her,no hollistic(sp?)stuff in those days I have a picture of her somewhere in with the other 10.000.000 I have,I will find it one day.She looked like Sadie, but did not have as much white.
Lucky,your Polo was beautiful!!
