are wolf hybrids legal in Canada?
I want to get some more information on the laws here in Canada, specifically in Ontario. I am not looking to breed or acquire but only want to know if it is illegal to possess as a pet a wolf/husky hybrid dog. I am in northern Ontario. I know many states in the US they are legal. What about in Canada?

I don't know if they are legal ot not. Dallas was a husky, sheppard wolf mix. A very alfa dog. Strong, willfull, and beautiful. She died of colon cancer.

I thought in BC it was illegal to adopt out wolf hybrid dogs, but I saw one the Nelson BC SPCA site so I am not sure.(He got adopted yeah!) Not sure how these dogs come about though I cant imagine someone intentionally breeding them.
I hope I never see a wolfadoodle !. |

My girlfriends wolf/husky just passed away last week. She aquired hers in Saskatchewan and is going to look for a new one there. Seems her father in law has connection to a breeder. Hers was legal as far as i know.Went to the vet was chipped and so forth. She is in Airdrie and never had any problems.

Im pretty sure they are...theres quite a few in downtown Toronto, they claim they are wolfXHuskys anyway. There is one in my neighbourhood, hes a beautiful dog, and plays pretty nicely with my dog. If they arent legal, its one of those things no one cares about anyways cause they don't look like pit bulls!

I was told by Agriculture Canada that indeed they are illegal to breed/sell. I was also told there is no way to prove that the dog is a true wolf hybrid. I know that many people selling them out there don't know for sure if they are truly wolf hybrids.
