Fatty lump on dogs paw pad

Hi I just noticed recently that my dog has been limping so today I took a look at the underside of his paw and noticed he has a fatty lump on the center pad which is starting to bleed, he does have a skin condition and fatty non cancerous lumps on oother random parts of his skin (which the vet said will happen with age) but this one seems to be really bothering him since its on his foot, is there anything I can do without paying the fortune at the vet?? I phoned my vet today and of course he said bring him in so I thought I would try this first

Thank you

Hi Hootersmom, sorry I have no advice except perhaps a $$vet visit. Making sure that it is no more then a fatty lump and not something more serious. Welcome..

fatty lipomas are common in some older dogs of certain breeds.

in my breed.....the doberman......it is seen in many senior dobes, especially if they have a low thyroid function.

i have never seen one on a paw pad though.

I wonder if it could be a cyst or a foreign body abscessing.

Hope all goes well at the Vet's.

please let us know what you find out.

Hugz to limpy!
