I had to say goodbye to my baby...

I've posted here before about my 11-year-old Scottie girl, Tipper. I thank you for all your advice and help. It is with a broken heart that I tell you that Tipper crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday at Noon.

She started having kidney problems in mid-August and was hospitalized multiple times for fluid treatments. The last time she was only home 4 days before she went back into kidney failure. Even with massive IV therapy, the doctors could not reverse it this time. Nothing further could be done medically to help my baby. She was at the start of multiple organ failure. Our painful decision shortened her life by only a few days, but spared her tremendous agony. She was not in pain or suffering when we said goodbye. It was the right decision at the correct time. Throughout all this, her spirit remained strong and courageous. It was with the deepest love that we freed her soul from her broken earthly body. She had a gentle passing. She is at peace and with her first mommy.

Tipper was a rescue who needed a home when her first owner passed away. It was just a few days short of her sharing 7 years of her life with me--she will share my heart forever.

Tipper, always in my heart.

Your story brought tears to my eyes. Most of the members here can relate to the heartache that you are going through right now, and hearing it over in your experience strikes a sad chord. Just be comforted to know that you did the kind thing for your Tipper, and ending her suffering was truly a display of your unselfish love for your girl. My heartfelt condolences go out to you, and RIP dear Tipper.
