Luba and Carina
Honey is truly gorgeous! Hard to believe that someone could dump her, and I'm not surprised dozens of people want her.
Yeah, as Carina says, Honey should be fine with the other dog, as long as she stays fairly mellow. Pointers and other hunting dogs generally get along, since getting in fights while pointing or hunting would not be desirable! The Rottie Fundraiser sounds like it was a lot of fun. Too bad no pics! I'd love to see so many Rotties in one place, and it probably helped educate people who have a bad opinion of the breed. Pit bulls too (long before Petey of the Little Rascals fame) were historically known to be great with kids, until the punks, druggies and wannabes discovered them. A pit bull rescue in Toronto has an annual event too, although of course the dogs are kept strictly on leash at all times! My Chloe sounds like your Dutch - I believe the heartworms also make her tire rather more easily than is typical for this high-drive and energetic breed. Here's another pic of her, with a foster kitten who sorely tested her love of cats - LOL! |

Oh my, that is one adorable photo! She looks totally resigned to being a cat toy, too cute.
The Rottie fundraisers are in a number of locations in the US every year, called Rottstocks. They raise money through raffles, donations, Tshirts, & events for regional rescue groups. The one this summer was the first one I'd gone too, it was great fun. I went with a Great Dane friend (and her dog) and a Rottweiler friend and HER mother who had the snappy standard poodle. I read somewhere that pitbulls in England used to be called "nanny dogs" because of their sweetness and tolerance of children. I used to live in Denver, where fighting is big money and common. Last year here in Flint MI (I live close) the FBI actually got involved and busted some very bad people who were involved in big-money pit fighting. Not to mention drugs, guns and random acts of violence.... Hey Luba your rescue to be is just gorgeous! What a muscular dog; and that tail looks like it could be dangerous.

Hi LR and Carina
Thx for Honey's compliment (blushing for her) Yup I really wanted to keep her myself and still do but can't get another dog and she wants to have a playmate to run with and wear her out HAHAHH! Tail = swinging threat of doom! You could play jump rope with it or Limbo! You guys are great both your dogs look so well loved and it's no doubt with angels like you as their family. Here is my Rusty that passed away in March at 16yrs (was super duper dog to me, loves him) I know I posted pics of him before but I can do it again na na na boo boo and nobody can stop me HHAHHA Hey LR your doggie has heartworms OMG how long and whats the treatment like now?
