No i cant, but my puppy did it when i first got him,he stopped, but the vet gave me powder stuff to put in his food, doesnt make the food taste different, but when it comes out the other end it makes the poop taste bad,go figure, thought poop would taste bad anyway...

...and right you are Heidi....it's called "For Bid"... For Bid makes the poop taste like *****....kinda an oxymoron if you ask me, but it works well.

As revolting as this is to us, it's fairly common in the animal world.

Until you teach your dog a reliable "Leave it!" make sure you take him out on leash every time he needs to go. If he tries to turn and eat it, say "Leave it" and pull him away. When he turns and looks at you, praise and treat.

If your dog is a puppy, he may outgrow this, and in the meantime, the Leave It command is a very good one to teach.

charlie has never eaten her own, but if we go past cow, well she gets so excited, nothing grosser that a green tounge coming in for a kiss. she will eat any cow or bird poo she can get, loves the stuff, hasnt killed her so i dont mind. someone tried to tell me she did it cause something was missing in diet, well she is just to healthy with a wide range of diet and stuff for this to be true, the vet said it wasnt any ways so i will believe him. oh dogs are just soooo grose sometimes, makes me gag, lol. (this smily is me gagging)

Friend of mine has a Border Collie who just loves Kitty Kandy. Unfortunately his neighbor has several cats who leave lots of it in the flowerbeds. His vet said the dogs like it because it's full of protein. My dad was a farrier. Whenever he was trimming a hoof, the ranch dogs would circle around watching and waiting for the pieces. Talk about bad breath! That's hi-protein also.

Puss-Puss never harms anything, just brings them in. Worst gift she gave me was a tomato worm.

Abbey started doing that too. As long as she doesn't want to lick our faces after eew! Also they like to roll on dead things , don't know why and I don't really care to know either. I just assume its a "dog" thing.

well... Chocolate's had his share of vomit... his own. that was always fun. the instant he was vomitting, I'm running over to comfort him, pull him away, AND clean it up...

Anita, the worst my cats got into their systems was spiders, flies, and ants. lol.

Luba did say Honey ate a bird or 2... and left the wings aside,

A friend of mine who lives on a ranchette says her cats leave mouse faces in her house. They eat everything but the face.
