Pirates of the Caribbean II

We rented it - glad I didn't go see it on the big screen for the big bucks. It was all just "forgettable". So long, arduous, boring, and "when is the real story going to start?" (but it never did) that I decided to take out the ironing board. That's how bad!

I actually took my nephews to see this in the theatre and found it quite entertaining.

Just finished watching it, and my comment was "wow that was chaotic" a few good laughs, Depp is amazing as always, great CG, but it was just... too much IMO. i almost fell asleep in hubby's lap halfway through the film... i hope the 3rd one is better.

I loved both of the Pirates movies so far and I can't wait for the third one to come out. I think Johnny Depp is great for the role and the effects were pretty great as well, the huge octopus thing was scary as hell for me! LOL

I just finished watching it too. I liked it... Keira was less irritating than in the first one. I also really liked the making of stuff on the DVD. Really cool.

A lot of people were saying how much better it was than the first one, but I found it to be on the same level. They were both good.

A couple of things I read in the imdb trivia section that I found cool.... spoilers.

Stay after the credits to find out the fate of one of the characters.

Orlando was not told about the kissing scene between Johnny and Keira, so is surprised reaction was real.

For a dose of authenticity in the final twist at the end of the film, the actors were not told, prior to filming, that Geoffrey Rush would be appearing in the movie. They were told, before the scene was shot, that the person coming down the stairs would be Anamaria (Zoe Saldana) from The Curse of the Black Pearl; the looks of surprise on their faces as Rush descends are genuine.

I loved both movies. I can't wait to see what happens in the third one. The extra stuff on the 2nd disc of PC2 is interesting to see as well. I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan, so anything he's in is for me, although seeing him as Willy Wonka was a little wierd...He always picks the eccentric characters.

He does, but he does a great job with the eccentric characters.

I, too, thought it was a bit chaotic and a bit draggy. Especially the giant wheel part and the big fight on the beach. IMHO I thought they had too many individual story lines going on and didn't connect the main characters enough. It is my hope the third one is more on par with the first one, which I thought was excellent! I must say though, that Johnny Depp in this role is one dreeeeeaaammmy guy. <insert a little drool here>

I was fast-forwarding through a lot of dialogue last night while watching it . . . . . obviously there's going to be a sequel and obviously Johnny Depp lept inside that monster and will re-emerge after slaughtering the critter from the inside ala that comic book I read once.

Probably too scary for a lot of kids but the 15-25 age group would probably love it.

Found it a little boring actually.
