Eye infection

Nelly has one .... I think it's from playing with foster Sienna , she must had gotten a tail whipped in her face or something like that. I have many tubes of ointment here for this , the goldens had a couple infections over the years.

My question is this , about a day before I saw that she had an infection , Sienna would lick Nelly's eye. Nelly loves it. I stop Sienna from doing it , and she listens very well but sometimes i'm not in the room when she does it. And Nelly likes it to much to make her stop. Will this licking make the infection worse ?

If it was me, I wouldn't let her lick it. I don't know for sure if it would make it worse but when it comes to eyes, I am always overly cautious.

Thanks Rainbow , I don't let her do it , mostly now because I don't want Sienna to lick off the ointment

it's funny though , how dogs pick up when there's something wrong with another dog .... Bailey is going blind and all the dogs smell his eyes now.

They not only pick up when there is something wrong with another dog, they also do with humans.

Maybe the bacteria on Sienna is being transferred to Nelly and she is getting an infection? Good Luck
