Only a comb out.

Wish I could have let the shelties hang onto their coats a bit longer seeing the weather is still bitterly cold at times here, but their undercoats have shifted, got stuck just above the skin, so uncomfortable for them that it has to go. Here is a before and after shot of Bo.

They all are as of tonight, Hazel, but that was just the big comb out, now I have to get busy with the brushes, do some claws, scale some teeth etc.. Far too cold to bath them, snow above 600 metres tomorrow.

He was handsome before, and is just as cute after. He looks like he knows it, too.

I could use some serious help with comb outs myself! Bo is looking like he knows he's been seriously spiffed up.

Holding his chin a bit higher. He usually fights like crazy if I try to do his teeth lying down but we have found he's fairly good if I do it while he's sitting on Ian's knee.

You can buy some spray that made is easier to comb pets with long fur. I bet when he is wet is look tiny. Marty loses weight after he has his winter coat cut for the summer. Cute dog

You should have seen how thin he was the day he came back here, he was so thin I could feel the shape of his bones and when wet he was extremely narrow accross the back. Poor boy. I used to show a cattle dog who looked fat when she was getting ready to drop her winter coat. When she did my competition always joked about her weight, however the laugh was on them because after she lost it they'd always come and see "Gee, you slimmed her down. " DUH! Hadn't ever put her on a diet.
