Ham
I place a boneless piece of ham in the crockpot, pour about 3/4 can of gingerale over it. cook about 2 hours on low. If you cook it for a long time, the meat gets dark. Very moist take care binky |

cut some carrots up, potatoes, and layer them on the bottom. Put your chicken pieces on top. Season and add about 1 cup of water. Cook on high for about 5 hours, remove and use the juice for gravey.
I also put pork chops and onions with 2 cans of mushroom soup, and 1 can of milk and cook the on high for about 5 hours also. Serve over rice... nummy...

Oatmeal!
In the evening: # 2 cups steel cut oatmeal (also called Irish oats or Scottish oats -- not rolled oats) # 6 cups water # 1 Tbsp. cinnamon Optional: raisins, craisins or other dried fruit, vanilla, walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, etc. Put on low throughout the night, wake up to a warm and ready to go breakfast. I like to add a dash of cream and a drizzle of maple syrup. You can also replace 1 cup of water with a cup of milk or almond/rice/soy milk overnight to get a creamier consistency. |

Well that's what I was thinking, I always defrost my meat overnight before if I'm putting it in a crockpot. I have never done chicken in it tho, or anything with hamburger, just way to leery of bacteria.
