LOL Congratulations Aunt Prin!!!! Baby toads are SO SO cute.
You've apparently made your toads very comfortable -- very good very good! Protect 'em from the birds and the kitties. Take a baby toad picture for me!

Well I took a pic of 2 babies in a measuring cup, next to a dime. I'll have to finish the roll on my doggies and bring it in. I think the 2 together were smaller than the dime... They're so amazingly tiny. They move fast though.

ewwwww there ARE enough toads in the world *L* ask me, I know, my yard at this time of the year is a breeding ground of toads and frogs *L* I mow my lawn by pulling my mower backwards behind me because it grosses me out running over them. My daycare loves this time of year, we gather them in buckets and take them for a walk into the swamp across the road for release. Same with the garter snakes, my yard becomes a wiggling mass, the seagulls and crows invade us this time of year.

I have a p/t job at a garden center(aquatic plants) and when I'm cleaning the greenhouse where all the Water Lilies are EVERYTIME a frog or a toad jumps it scares the crap out of me and I curse!! I don't see them until they jump or if I do accidently see one, it still scares me!!

I have to say I was curious about this thread, thinking "What??? Prin has pet toads and she's breeding them? Is she a reputable breeder? (Kidding - but it might be worthwhile, who knows, lol). It also for some reason made me think of Harry Potter - given that Harry Mania is the norm these days, at least among the age group I spend much time with, <g> I even have a Harry Potter chair in my office!!
So, are you going to take some baby pix? And on that other notable topic, any Harry Potter fans here? I have to admit I've read all the books - love them and adore Harry and Hermonine and Prof McG (I mean, anyone who can turn into a cat has GOT to be kewl right?) Anyway, enjoy the babies and the new families Prin - woiuld love to see the moving lawn. It bet that would make a great book for little (and big) readers of a certain age. Prin Potter and the Dancing Toads. |

AWWW they are so cute!! It's hard cutting the grass this time of year, don't want to run over any baby toads!! (I pick them all up, put them in a pail until I'm done, then return them to the same spot )
I hit a frog once, I was so upset I couldn't finish cutting the grass  At the trailer, my son does frog patrol before I cut the grass, (he scares them all back intoi the water)

Lucky we don't mow then... We're both really allergic to grass so it takes a while for one of us to get up the nerve.
I'll post pics of my toads when I get them developed... (Mine are better) |

I think they are awfully cute!! I used to have frogs, toads, newt's and salamanders as a kid... I love them!
When I visit my parents in florida I always catch an anole or a frog when I get a chance. |

We used to have toads jump into the basement window wells and I'd have t ogo on 'rescue missions'.
One year the window well was like lookign at mexican jumping beans. I put a window screen in the well on an angle and helped the babies out. We had like 40-50 that we collected in a wash tub and safley put into the garden.. I have a pic somewhere.. it's fun. I'm sad.. I haven't seen a toad here in years.. |
