hi my name is kathryn and i am a new member
hi i have a question to ask my 3 year old labrador has lost 10kgs in the past year the vet has done every test that he can think of we have put him on steroids so he can gain some weight but that has not helped we have changed his diet to k/d science diet that is not helping my next move is to do a biopsy on his bowels but that does not mean we will find an answer please is there anyone who may have an answer for me considering this time last year that he was a very fat dog i also have another labrador who is fat and healthy please help me as i am deperate

Has the vet done blood tests for thyroid problems, diabetes, viruses etc., in addition to the usual blood panel? Does your dog eat and drink, pee and poop normally? Is he active?
Science diet is not good food, although vets are always pushing it (usually because they sell it). Check out all the info here on the better brands. Last edited by badger; November 25th, 2006 at 09:43 AM. |

yes they have done all blood tests everything came out normal, he is a very active dog his wees are fine but sometimes he does have diorehea

Welcome to the forum. I agree with everything badger said. Please try changing his food to a better quality than Science Diet.
That is alot of weight to lose in one year......maybe your vet is missing something. I would go to a different vet for a second opinion. |
