Hurray for San Mateo CA!
County fire departments given pet oxygen masks By Malaika Fraley,
SAN MATEO-Every fire department in the County will soon be equipped with oxygen masks for pets suffering from smoke inhalation, thanks to the generosity of Peninsula residents. Burlingame Fire Department, which in December was first to get the masks, already put the new technology to use when it saved an unconscious Chihuahua at a recent fire. The Peninsula Humane Society raised more than $3,000 in public donations this year to buy pet oxygen mask kits for County fire departments and is in the process of handing them out to those still without.
