bitting or nipping

I have two kittens 8 months old one has started to lightly bit my hand or even my face if she is close to me while relaxed not startled in anyway. someone told me this is a sign of affection and someone else told me it's their way of letting you know they own you!! Any comments

If the bites are very gentle and don't hurt at all, then yes - I would say they are "love bites". If you don't want her to do this, try gently blowing in her face when she tries to bite you.
