Water woes

Is there any way to make water more interesting????
I really need to cut back on juice and pop intake and increase my just plain ol water intake... but I hate water

Aside from lemon in the water and cucumber slices in the water, is there any other way to make a glass of water actually taste good?????

Im serious here, as dumb as it sounds....

What about adding Crystal LIght? They have quite a few flavors and only 5 calories per serving.

Yeah, tea! I only seem to drink water in the summer - and plenty of it, with pleasure - but in the winter, forget it. Try mint or green tea, separately or as a combo, fill up a thermos and sip all day. Or briefly boil (yes, boil) black tea leaves in water with a little fresh ginger (Indian-style), add milk, reheat, strain, enjoy. Really delicious.

Does crystal light have aspartame in it????
The tea thing sounds neat, like a home made iced tea... <-- me thinking
My water is well water... while its a million times better than town water, i find it has a cardboard taste to it..... There is a spring down the road that I fill up bobbles with but its hard to access in winter...
I have to really avoid excess sugar, and acidy drinks....

Chico... the beer thought was a great one

Crystal Light does have aspartame in it, Erykah. Maybe some of the herbal teas? There's fruity ones that would make a decent iced-tea even without sugar.

Do you have a Brita or other filtering pitcher? If not, try it. It might well take all the cardboard taste out of the well water. It works here in Cornwall, where the water tends to be highly sulpherous.

have you tried a brita on tap filter? helps with the well water taste. i also find well water taste way better if you keep some in the fridge so its super cold. crystal light does have aspirtame in it i actually like the taste of aspirtame but its soo bad for you. i cant drink water unless its super cold (and my cats are the same way!)

For some reason when i drink or chew or eat ( basically intake lol) anything with aspartame my throat feels like its swelling shut immediately afterwards... same things happens when I eat carrots, but i allergic to carrots, so am assuming aspartame as well.

Yeah, I have a friend who is allergic to aspartame. There is another sugar substitute called Maltose that is supposed to be much healthier for people, but I don't know much about it. Don't quote me, but I think it's better for your teeth, too-doesn't contribute to tooth decay.

Yeah, britas work. Just make sure you change the filters often because they can become little petri dishes for the bacteria the filter filters out...

oh i hate water too!!! i drink rooibos tea or honeybush. very healthy, very high in antioxidants, no caffeine (sp) and yummy! it is kind of a love it or hate it thing though.I grew up on it (in South Africa all the babies drink it) add a little milk and honey if you like (although the honeybush doesnt really need it) and enjoy! i dont think theres a way to make water taste good. ive given up on that.

Britas do work--we need them because we have so much copper in the water that if we don't filter it we get sick.

But the only way I can get water to taste good to me is to make it into coffee... ...which kinda defeats the purpose cuz then coffee's a mild diuretic and you still don't hydrate well...

I increase my water intake by mixing sparkling water (usually just use the safeway brand) and mixing it with one part juice (cranberry or orange usually) and 2 parts sparkling water. Cuts way back on the calories but still flavor and some nutrition.

Temporarily solved my water issue....
Iced Chai Tea Very diluted and absolutely no sugar added, but really good. Kinda gave the water a bit of a kick....
After this pitcher is done... gotta try something new.
