What to do?

My wife works during the day and goes to school at night and I work from home more than not and we decided it would be a good time to adopt a pet since I have access to train him all day long. We decided to purchase a nine week old Cockapoo from a very knowledgable and reputable breeder. Three days later I found out that I have to go out of town on business for a month which was totally unexpected as I never travel with my current position. Obviously this is not going to have a positive affect on my puppy's training schedule not to mention his social life. I'm not sure what to do as this was not in the plans. Does anyone have any ideas?

mac0075. Is this going to be a one time out of town "gig" or will it happen often. If one time perhaps the breeder will keep the puppy until you return and are able to devote time to teaching and socializing. Good luck.

Well, I'd like to think it is a one time event but we'll see. Like I sid, this was totally unexpected. Hopefully it is. I'll try to speak with the breeder and see if we can arrange something. Go figure, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water....
