Netherlands Horse Rescue

This may be old news to some of you, as these events happened in November 2006, but this was the first I'd heard of it.

The story goes...
A storm blew through, drowning 18 or 19 horses, and trapping 100-200 more on a tiny island, created when the land flooded. Attempts to rescue the horses by boat failed when the boats got stuck in the sand near the island. They could not allow the horses to swim off the island due to the concern of hidden barbed wire beneath the water. Food was brought to the horses, but some of them were still on the verge of death, when the rescue was completed.

Best of all; Video: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?doc...therland+horse

Sound isn't required, but it's got some really fantastic, emotional music with it. Quite amazing, the whole story.

Enjoy!

I watched the video. They must have been exhausted by the time they got to shore.
