I actually do! But this is a better trick than the year number tricks.
It works because when you take a 2 digit number and subtract the sum of the digits from it, you always get a multiple of 9. So your answer will always be 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72 or 81. Then when they give you the list of symbols, all of those multiples of 9 (and some other numbers as well) have the same symbol, and that symbol is what will be shown. They randomly assign the symbols each time you play, so you'll keep choosing different symbols.
That's why it doesn't work if you just randomly choose a number, unless you choose a multiple of 9.
