WORMS?! Yuck!

When we bought Guinness our breeder assured us he had been dewormed. I don't know exactly what that word means, but I assumed that it meant he didn't have worms. Nevertheless, my vet gave me a Drontal tab to deworm him, and I fed it to him a few days later, because he was just getting used to a new food and hadn't been eating much at all lately (A dachshund eating between 1/3 cup, or 2/3 cup a day? I know, sounds crazy. And I had to hand feed him or he would not eat). When he started eating a bit better, I gave him the tablet hidden in some Cheez Whiz, he ate lunch, and later on at dinner. With dinner there was no potty, which I posted about in frustration last night. He did get sick once last night, but the Drontal can do that, so I paid no mind.
But when I woke up my boyfriend was already up and hadn't been watching him and he had had an accident on the floor... And there were worms!

Gross, white, long worms. I took pictures and started freaking, and called every vet in town until I found one that was open. Apparently, that was normal.

The vet should have warned me.
Is this something I should discuss with our breeder?
