My Maligator :)

This is my 85 lbs Belgian Malinois Shiloh. Most people and dogs are afraid of black dogs, I thinks it's because he's mysterious and you can't really see his eyes, actually, he's a huge mommas boy

That is called black dog syndrome and more blacks are put down b/c people are afraid of them . Your dog is very handsome. I had a black Standard Poodle and some people where very afraid of him and he was a big goof ball.

I think he's very handsome, not scary at all. I've heard that about black cats, but didn't know that about dogs. Sounds crazy to me.

I had a dog crate delivered to my condo for my black Standard Poodle and the UPS guy refuses to bring the box into my condo when he saw my dog . He said he was not going to come in my home. I think the OP dog is cute and looks very intelligent .

Thank you everyone. The only time he is scary is at night when the lights are out and he's laying in front of a doorway ) and I do understand about the syndrome. I take him to Pet Smart, and any and all dogs freak out, trying to attack him, he keeps his composer and focus and totally ignore the other dogs.

I had a situation where a Black GSD was barking and growling at him, and I wondered if it's owner ever put a mirror in front of him

I was shopping with my black poodle , he was my hearing dog and Finlay saw himself in a mirror and started to growl that the 'other' dog . It took a second for Finlay to realize he as growling at himself .
