Good Raw books...

One of my friends has a basset hound who has terrible food allergies (diagnosed by a vet) and seasonal allergies.

He gets really itchy scratchy skin (he scratches until he bleeds). Poor little guy. He's full of scales and scabs. They've tried almost every food out there, all the allergy formulas....everything.

I went over yesterday, and they have him on a new diet. Cooked ground horse meat and patatoes. But it doesn't seem to be working.

I recommended they look into the raw diet. Does anyone have any suggestions of good books I could recommend to her?

I have read quite a few, some are better than others.A few to look at would be

ULTIMATE DIET: NATURAL NUTRITION FOR DOGS AND CATS
by Kymythy Schultze

GIVE YOUR DOG A BONE
Ian Billinghurst

Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog, Wendy Volhard and Kerry Brown

Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide To Natural Health For Dogs And Cats

Reigning Cats and Dogs : A Holistic Apporach To Royal Treatment For Healthy Happy Carnivores, by Pat McKay

Pat used to also have a free raw book online but not sure that is still available.Ann Martin's views on raw and kibble should also be considered, her two books that I have read are

Protect Your Pet: More Shocking Facts
By Ann N. Martin

Foods Pets Die For, by Ann N. Martin

I have 2 books on home cooked meals and will have to go find the titles.

I also want to read Switching to Raw by By Susan K. Johnson but haven't got to it yet.
