Blue Ear Solution (Treatment)
Thanks to all those who responded about my dog's ear. Blue ear solution was mentioned several times. Any ideas where I can get it or the ingredients for it? Thanks for all your help.

Here it is: http://itsfortheanimals.com/Adobe/Bl...0Treatment.pdf
(Careful when using, it will dye your clothes, rug etc - do it outside and allow time to dry!) Gentian Violet can be hard to find - are you in Toronto? You may have to try a few pharmacies. I know one in Toronto that carries it. I would also eliminate all yeast from your pet's diet, in the food and all treats. Another oral supplement you could try is Yeast Cleanse by Solaray - avaialble at health food stores, one capsule opened and sprinkled in each meal - works great. |

the only thing that i would warn about this stuff is that if your dog's ears are ultra sensitive, the alcohol in the solution will be harsh on his ears.
we had tyson on this for quite some time but his ears tended to get cracked and sore from the alcohol. we have since put him on zymox and a dry powder solution (can't remember the name of it off hand). his ears are much better now than they ever were on the gentian alcohol solution.
