Sulphuric Acid on dog's skin

Hi
My Siberian Husky almost go into a bottle of 'Liquid Lighting' drain cleaner which has Sulphuric acid with 12 buffer as an ingriedient.

We thought none had got on her, but find now that there is a sore on the right side of her right paw, which she is constantly licking. I have put antibiotic cream on it, but it seems to be no better.

Could it still be acting an eating at the skin? I heard baking soda will neutralize the Sulphuric acid, but not sure whether it would work in this case?

Thanks
Gemma

Unfortunately it is too late to try and neutralize the effects of the acid. That would have had to have been done in the first few minutes. Seriously take the dog to your vet. At this point it needs antibiotic cream and bandages. You'll also want the vet to see just how much damage has been done.

Sulphuric Acid on dog's skin

Thanks a lot
I did put try to soak her paw in aa solution of baking soda, but she was not happy, obviously hurt a lot. She bit me, and now I have just had a tetanus.

We have an appointment this afternoon with the vet, so hopefully will have her feeling better soon.

I hope the vet visit goes well! Sounds painful

And I hope your owie heals quickly, too! How badly did you get bit?

You're very lucky if she only got it on her paw! It could have been so much worse. I hope the vet trip goes well also, and that you heal up quickly too!
