Question noticed mucous on dogs butt

Sorry not really sure how to phrase this!
I have a rotti and noticed this evening a string of what looked like yellow mucous comming from her back area, Not right under the tail a bit farther down. Has anyone seen this before? I have not seen any since and she does not seem to be acting diffrent?

I don't know what this could be but if you want some help from the members here you should tell us more about the dog like how old, if she's spayed and where exactly you think it's coming from...

If she is spayed and the mucous or pus is coming from her vagina, she could simply have a vaginal infection.

If she is not spayed, she could have a uterine infection which could be very serious.

Either way, a vet visit is indicated so the discharge can be analyzed and treated accordingly.

She will be 4 in May. She is fixed. I think it is comming from the vagina. But I have not seen any since. Could this problem correct itself on its own? Thank you everyone for the help!

Without a vets opinion,(hands on) sometimes minor problems do correct themselves...please do not let your guard down though.

Ciara has been having bout's with colitis. Sometimes her stool will have stringy mucous attached. She is on many medications that can cause this so we Tx as symptoms arise.

All pet's, like people are different. Ask your vet and you will feel better.
