I think he owns an American Staffordshire Terrier, either on it's own or with another dog. He was supposed to be at the rally this Saturday.

Has anyone passed this link on to the media?

Don Cherry is topical right now because of CBC's " Greatest Canadian" contest.
I can see a reporter loving to ask him how he feels about Blue being forced to wear a face mask.

Don Cherry

My husband and I contacted his personal assistant today and are hoping to hear back from him soon. She felt he would be interested in helping our cause and would pass a long our message.

Very funny we have to keep our sense of humour. It is true could you see the look on that weasels (MB)face if Don requested a meeting with him to discuss the issue. I t would be all over the press because we know Don Cherry never gives his opinion on anything

I have read your thread, And I was hoping you can help me. I understand Don Cherry is a very huge person, and very popular. And well you see, I am having the same type of problem as he is with his dog. We have a Dog Named Hunter who is a Mastiff, Boxer, Lab. And The law is trying to put him down because He has never had a licence, and is not neutured. He is always leashed and Muzzled, and we always clean up after him.He has never growled at anyone.and never bit anyone either.I am 18 on my own. And have spoken to the people at The Animal Rights Of Canada, I have gotten a lawyer from them, who is helping me out very much. But I fear that this will not be enough. Because I understand on our part we should of got Hunter licenced and neutured but we didnt. The courts are charging us 2325$ plus the fee's for the lawyer which are 1000$ plus the costs for his neuturing and licence and all his shots which is another 500$ . I am not asking for money , only that if you could, and I know this is a long shot. But could you give me the number so I could get ahold of Don Cherry. Or even pass on the message.

I have no idea who his agent is (MUST be a good one though, lol) but if you have his PA's number, that's great. What about posting a comment on Don's site? http://www.cbc.ca/news/viewpoint/you..._contract.html

Just a thought - I am sure someone reads it and gives him the notable quotes.

Why did you have to go to court in the first place?

The only dog breeds that have a law hanging over them forcing the owners to neuter or spay them are 5 breeds grouped under Pitbulls. Your dog does not have to be fixed and unless he looks like a pitbull you should not have to prove anything.
If that is not the case there must be something more to this than we are aware of.

I agree there must be something more to the story, but honestly, mix any breed with Boxer and in a group of 10 people, I can guarantee you at least one will cry "Pitbull", where as the vast majority of us know what a "Pitbull" looks like, most ignorant people in this province do not.
Thats the sad reality,
Now, I know this ban directly affects all Bully owners,I feel for all of you, I couldnt imagine how you are feeling, but please dont think it doesnt affect us who have dogs "similar" in some morons eyes. It does. We are on edge walking our dogs down the street, taking them into petstores or even riding in our cars, it just takes one person to cry "Pitbull" and it starts for us too.
That is why we ALL have to fight together, not amongst each other.

Because he is not licence or nuetured, someone called the animal control because alot of children run around where we use to live, and i guess hunter looks vicious whenhe has to wear his muzzle.

He actually looks alot like a pitbull because of the boxer in him, even our vet thought he was a mastiff boxer.

ProtectHunter, those prices you are quoting are ridiculous. Vaccines $500? Try less than 100$ and neutering isn't all that much either. Why don't you just have him neutered - it's much better for his health - and buy a license already. I personally think you have no principles to stand on here. Licensing dogs is the law. And neutering is just common sense.

If you apologize and arrive in court with documents proving your dog is now licensed and neutered, maybe the judge will give you a break.
