my mom has two of those she plants tomatoes in all the time and she just loves it!! Your clematis are gorgeous, ours has been blooming like crazy here too, seems odd that they are blooming before the peonies.....

is that a butterfly bush? I have a small one, do you cut it down every year or just let it go?

No,you do it in the spring, but it would probably still come back, even if you cut it down in the fall,I don't know
Mine are growing vigorously right now

Oh,and my Butterfly-bush usually grows to almost 6 feet,so if yours is small maybe you should not cut it in the fall..

Is that one of those upsy downsy tomato planters? I saw them at Home Depot and thought about getting one. I can't plant any kind of veggie garden because my yard is small and it is full of very mature trees with very strong roots. The first year I tried, I built up a frame and filled it with about a foot of good dirt but nothing grew...finally figured out the tree root systems choked everything out.
Last year I put cherry tomatoes in planters on the deck, but I want real tomatoes. Guess I'll be getting one this week before it is too late to start them!
Thanks for the pictures. Now I know they work!

Your clematis are beautiful! The roses, too. Are they blooming that much earlier than normal this year? The lupines grew up really fast, bloomed and are already going to seed this year! Even the wild lupine bloomed early

Our peonies just popped, too, but I think it's about their usual time.

Is that one plant a weigelia, chico? My in-laws have a bright red one and it's absolutely gorgeous!

Your clematis' are beautiful Chico2. Is the white one a White Henry?

Yes in that everything is in full bloom so early. I already have my summer flush on a climber that normally doesn't bloom until the last week in June!
