Unhappy New puppy is sick.

I just got an 11 week old Yorkshire Terrior on tuesday. He has been sneezing alot since then, and yesterday I noticed he seems to have an eye infection in his left eye. It has a green, crusty substance in it, which is bothering him alot. He has been pawing at it an awful lot the past day. Also, this morning I woke up and noticed he has had a bit of diarrhea today. I do have an appointment set up for him at the vet for tomorrow because the vet is closed today, but I am not sure if his symptoms are too bad to wait until tomorrow. He still seems to be active, and wants to play alot. I'm very worried about him. What should I do? Call the emergency number the vet left on his answering machine, or wait until tomorrow?

You can always call the e-vet and describe his symptoms and see what they think. Also, did you tell the breeder?

Obviously calling doesn't hurt. Call and describe the symptoms. See what they tell you. As long as he's not lethargic or uncomfortable I'm sure it can wait until tomorrow. Just watch him and if he seems to be bothered I'd rush him in.

Where'd you get this dog from?

Thanks so much for all the replies everyone. I took him to the vet the next day and he just had a case of conjunctivitis. I have been giving him eyedrops since, and he is doing much better. The sneezing was happening because of the irritation due to the tearing of his eyes. The vet said he is a perfectly healthy little guy, which I am so happy about. The diarrhea went away that night but i brought in a sample to my vet and he said the puppy is fine. Since then he has been doing great, and has become much more playful lately. I guess he just needed time to adjust to us. Today he is going to get another booster. Thanks again for the replies.
