Question Cat has scratchy voice

My 4 yr old cat has had a very scratchy voice lately, almost like he is losing his voice. He isnt sneezing or coughing, no runny nose. Hes eating and drinking, and behaving as he normally does, but his voice is going. Any advice

Thanks!

Could be hyperthyroid? More common in older cats though. Losing her meow was the first sign that our Puss-Puss was. A blood test pinpointed it. Could also be something else. A vet visit is a good idea. Caught early, most things are easier and cheaper to treat.

Question

How would I know if my cat has this disease if she doesn't meow much? She's a very quiet cat...

She'd be hungry all the time, and losing weight. A blood test will tell if the thyroid levels are off.
