Effective Cat Repellent?

Hi, a friend of mine has a male stray cat in her neighborhood that she is going to TNR (trap, neuter, release) this week. She discovered him because he is spraying at her front door. She has an indoor cat who sits in the window which is probably the reason he has started marking (t)his territory. She doesn't want to stop her own cat from being able to sit in the window and chances are that neutering won't stop the behavior since he is a grown cat.

She is wondering if there is an effective cat repellent that she can use to keep him away from her front door. If anyone has a suggestion or product they would like to pass along, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks everyone! Karen
