Has anyone found that Atopica doesn't work for their dogs?
Tierce has suffered from seasonal allergies for years and we have been giving him Atopica. However, we have switched from Atopica to Prednisone because after 3-5 month stints of one-pill-a-day, Atopica is only having a minimal effect on his itching all through its application. Has anyone experienced this and what did your vet recommend?

My dog was very ill on Atopica, vomiting and lethargy. We had to go on vanectyl-p. She's still itchy but I insist on giving her one every other day now. I'm home cooking to see if there is an improvement.

Yeah, we had to give Tierce an anti-nauseant so he could keep the Atopica down. It's the castor oil, so I've been told.
We've tried everything from raw to Purina Hypoallergenic to Acana to Orijen, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Each diet we tried out for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Now he's on Acana, which doesn't do anything for his allergies, but he seems to do well on it otherwise. |
